Home made Jam is always delight to make, specially the Strawberry Jam or Conserve. I usually prefer to have home made Jam as an accompaniment because its free from artificial preservatives, flavors and Colors and just pure natural flavors.

Strawberry is great source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folic Acid, Magnesium, Potassium and Fibers. Its red colors is because of high ammount of flavanoids and phytonutrients. It has high antioxidants content and is good for your heart and stomach.  Homemade Strawberry Jam is also suitable for people with allergies.

Ingredients:

2 cups of roughly chopped Strawberry

1 cup granulated Sugar

1 medium sized Apple, peeled and grated

1 tsp of fresh Lemon juice

 Method:

1.  Put chopped Strawberry along with Sugar in a heated Pan.

2.  Add grated Apple to it and mix it well. Keep it on medium flame and keep stirring it in between. Keep it cooking till it reaches the thick consistency and almost getting set.(**)

3. As Strawberry has low Pectin content, add Lemon juice and mix it well for a minute and turn the heat off.

Store it in Jar or any other container and let it cool. Yummy and tasty Strawberry Jam is ready to be accompanied with Bread, Poori, Parantha or Naan.

** Note: To know whether you Jam is set or not there are many ways such as drop test, wrinkle test etc. I generally use wrinkle test, which requires a cool plate chilled in freezer for at least five minutes. To test put few drops of jam from heating pan onto the plate. After few seconds, push the Jam from your finger, if its surface wrinkles then its ready to be set, otherwise repeat the step after 2-3 minutes again.
